How Policies Are Processed
Fetch
A scheduled job (daily, 08:00 UTC) fetches news listings from each official source via HTTP.
Relevance filter
Titles are screened against foreign-investor keywords (investment, tax, forex, visa, market access, etc.). Disaster, diplomacy, and sports items are excluded.
Full-text extraction
For each relevant item, the full article text is fetched from the source page.
AI summarization
DeepSeek produces a structured English summary: executive summary, 6 key points, target audience, category, issuing body, and effective date.
Quality gate
If all summaries in a batch fall back to placeholders (e.g. API issue), the run aborts and nothing is published. Partial fallbacks are flagged for review and hidden.
Change detection
When a tracked policy's source text changes, it is re-summarized and an update note is appended to its history.
